When a skilled practitioner offers to train you, it’s priceless. The right teacher can transform you to qualitatively new levels. And what we do here is seemingly universally applicable to movement arts and sports. You're working to enhance your mind-body being wholistically and it has widespread benefits you might not even expect, but they just are there.
The value added will be so clear that buyer’s remorse is hard to even imagine. My experience has been that any tuition is just given as an expression of appreciation. I can think of no better investment in myself than such offers of tuition as an expression of my appreciation when I found a demonstrably skilled teacher who accepted me as a student. I would have paid anything I could afford and feel like it wasn't enough for an even transaction. It is that special when you find a source of instruction that actually makes a huge difference that you really wanted.
I never planned to share this knowledge, but at this point in my life, I feel a responsibility to do my part to prevent it from going extinct. Throughout my career as a professor, I’ve loved teaching students. Now, in “retirement” from that realm, I believe my most significant teaching contributions are still ahead, in my dad's honor, here at Morris Wellness Center.
And if there’s one thing I share with my dad, it's always thinking about how I can be better. I've always underrepresented myself. Unless there's a reason, we don't represent our capacities. I’m also among the last who recognize my progress, compared to what is common.... I'm trying to say is that at this point, I can’t deny that I have difficult to find skills, and can teach them.
If you train with me, you will gain benefits quick, because you have not harnessed this sort of way of being before. Then, "the real work" begins, which is a never-ending, ongoing training that is uniquely your own, and which will keep on building value well after our time together is over.
Eventually, I want your skills at a level you can't even imagine, I hope you love the journey of training consistently and open-mindedly, and making interesting new shifts in ability, as you remove layer upon layer of new challenges continually. If you keep the right "north star" with practice, the process will continue to produce new results you weren't even looking for anymore.... It' humbling.
Historically, these sorts of teachings have been "closed-door," family-held hard-earned knowledge and skill. Even today, across many fields, many top teachers only have resources to privately train those who will benefit and create meaningful results (athletics, healing arts, their personal development), ....
If our goals align well (via a brief discussion--in person, zoom, ...), I'm willing to take up to 10 individually taught students. I will also consider two people together at a reduced rate. One-on-one is what I consider ideal.
To progress, you must come with a great student attitude: open-minded, reality-based, willing to consistently train without trying to achieve results (paradoxical) and respect the process. I welcome you! Drop an email regarding private instruction in the form below...
The right teacher can open doors you didn't see! For high-level skills, this is a proven route.
