After years of learning, training, research, trial and error, and off-road tribulations, it became clear that most respected 'awakening' traditions share a core essence across time and cultures. It seemed there would be value in presenting the material in a clean, concise package, with minimal distractions.
Most books either focused on one or two aspects of mind-body-spirit development or were cluttered with unnecessary material. I aimed to provide a direct, distraction-free path to real transformation. Effortless Well-Being: The Missing Ingredients for Authentic Wellness was published in 2003, was remarkably well received achieving top ranks in health, wellness, meditation, alternative medicine, and other readership categories, including Amazon's general Hot 100 Best-Sellers in some regions.
I didn’t want to wait for standard publishing, so I released the first edition independently. Later, a worldwide Spanish-language publisher and a South Korean-based publisher created beautifully crafted versions, which was nice. I ended up commenting on wellness in the NY Post, New York Daily News, small and large radio shows, and other outlets. I gave well-received training workshops for K-12 teachers on reducing stress through book related strategies and techniques. And I was honored to receive heartfelt thanks and humbling praise from some readers, including a top business achiever who had just retired. It was also an honor to learn that the book was recommended reading for a well-known top-tier academic executive leadership seminar....
I soon chose to step away from the spotlight in favor of a more private teaching environment as a professor for a time.
I have EWB2 in the works now. I'm excited to share subtle but significant enhancements to the original book text, by adding insights since EWB came out so long ago. Interestingly, there is little I would change today but I have some additions I think would be nice in the same source.
As far as training goes, I am happy to share this work. However, you don't need to practice EWB independent of our main trainings. At the Morris Wellness Center, we integrate it into standing, movement, and effortless power training.
I am particularly interested in helping people include the ability to move well in the practice, which is why a 'walking in stillness' exercise was offered as one of four key practices in EWB. With directed guidance I can much more rapidly help a person use effortless wellbeing as an engine to develop truly powerful movement abilities.

NOTES: While others may use 'Effortless Well-Being' in various contexts, my work and teachings are only available here at the Morris Wellness Center. Also, Effortless Well-Being is not about blissful enlightenment or mental health in the traditional sense. It is simply about being the best you can be in the moment—along dimensions of good form and function. I do not present myself as a model for happiness or life success, as that discussion isn’t relevant to this practice. This is about being better and functioning the best we can where we are. Nothing more, nothing less.
Effortless Well-being: The Missing Ingredients for Authentic Wellness, 2003, is Still Key Material.
