A retreat is more than just a getaway — it’s an opportunity to step out of your usual patterns and immerse yourself in practices that change how you stand, move, and experience life. Even a single day can create breakthroughs that normally take months to uncover even with excellent guidance. This is for anyone who wants to restore balance, find new energy, and explore the deeper layers of effortless wellbeing.
Retreats accelerate growth because they remove distractions and create a concentrated learning environment.
Together, these create the conditions where transformation happens naturally.
This training guides participants step by step through the foundations of effortless practice — building stability, awareness, and power that can be applied to movement, interaction, and free expression.
This balance of structure and freedom leaves you both refreshed and transformed.
Retreat fees cover all training. Lodging is at the participant’s expense if they choose to stay overnight at the resort or nearby accommodations, which are affordable and lovely.
Morris Wellness Center's signature retreat will be held at the historic George Williams campus on the quiet shores of Geneva Lake in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. With 137 acres of wooded trails, lakefront lawns, and classic architecture, the campus feels both expansive and intimate — a place where you can step away from daily noise and enter a rhythm of stillness and discovery.
The natural beauty of the lake and grounds creates the perfect backdrop for this work. Open spaces for movement, shaded paths for walking practice, and peaceful indoor halls for guided stillness provide everything needed for immersion. It is a setting that invites both rest and awakening — making it an ideal environment for experiencing effortless wellbeing at a deeper level. Future retreats may also be offered in Illinois, in places like Door County and Galena — each chosen for its inspiring natural setting and accessibility. Other states will be integrated into the lineup over time and by request.
Evan Finer, born in 1966, is a lifelong student and practitioner of movement, power, and wellbeing, guided first by his father, Morris, from before he could walk. Though humble, he realizes that his knowledge and ability is now extremely rare and on the verge of extinction. Thus, he chose to teach this material as he enters his "elder" years. His work integrates his decades of training, research, and teaching across several domains related to mind-body enhancement: meditative, healing, wellness, movement traditions....
In 2000, he released Effortless Wellbeing — a bestseller in health, wellness, and alternative medicine, later published in Spanish and Korean editions. He has been featured in the New York Post, New York Daily News, and numerous radio programs, and has led teacher-training workshops on stress reduction and mind-body skills. Most recently, he retired as a tenured professor of psychology specializing in personality, social, and business psychology.
Through the Morris Wellness Center — named in honor of his father — Evan now shares a unique path to effortless power and ageless movement, blending precision training, personal correction, and timeless practices into a system designed for modern life.
This retreat represents Evan’s most comprehensive and generous offering to date. He's had many hundreds of participants describe his teaching as transformative over the years:
