Why We Value Sport Psychology - But Don't Fully Align...

Similar Work is Already a Baked-in Bonus!

At the Morris Center, sport psychology isn’t a separate service—it’s part of the training itself. Whether you’re a beginner learning to stand properly or an elite athlete breaking beyond limits, the mental side of performance is always present.


I’ve trained and worked in psychology—doing extensive doctoral-level study in two subfields, earning tenure as a Psychology Professor, and engaging in decades of personal experiential work and research, seeking optimal performance, discipline, and mind-body integration. 


I’ve always appreciated the value psychology can offer—at times, great value. However, I do not affiliate myself with the field. The work I do is about real results, not academic categories.


The principles of discipline, mindset, and performance (among others), ..., which sport psychology does address through its lenses, are built into our training because they usually help progress. 


So, whether in private elite training or beginner movement work, sport psychology isn’t something extra—it’s already baked into the process.
